A Belated Weekly Goals Recap Week 1 and Week 2 goals

WEEK ONE GOALS

  • To be awake from morning to night, no napping for at least 7 days (I am two days into this).
I napped on the LAST DAY OF THIS!!! Sadly I did a HUGE work out (yes I’ve bitched about it) and I spent 5 days feeling like utter crap, and I managed not to nap for ALL of them, except ONE!!! SIGH… So, while I didn’t manage that, I’m still pretty bloody proud of myself for that effort!!!

  • To attempt manage a full 7 days without any sleeping aids (valium - unless its required for pain, sleeping tabs, phenergan) (I am also two days into this).
Again this one, I didn’t manage, but only because I had to take phenergan for hay fever as all my other hay fever meds are stimulants and would have kept me up… so, again, not quite made it but still bloody proud of myself for this.

  • To use my foam roller at least twice in the next 7 days, shoulders, thighs, glutes, ITB, inner thighs
I smashed this one… I used it three maybe for times, even while I was so sore and I hurt like buggery, but I DID IT!!!

  • To complete my stretches/exercises from my Physio at least 3 times
Nup… as usual, totally conked this one, didn’t manage it once…. shitty about that but I can’t be blamed too much with how bad I was.
  • To spend a little bit of time every day working on the house and my headspace.
Also I smashed this, I’m looking after myself and this house as much as possible given everything that is going on…

Above and beyond that I didn’t have a goal goal of getting on the bike but I wanted it out there that I needed to get back into it, and I’ve done that three times this week, low resistance and anything from 16-30 minutes.

All in all, I’m pretty proud of myself.

WEEK TWO GOALS

  • Update my resume to a standard where I can apply for jobs. I want to have two resumes, one for retail and one for Admin. Once I have updated it I will get it read over by at least two different knowledgeable friends.
  • Spend some time every day going through the house work and my headspace. this includes meditation, cleaning, cooking, organising and parts of the ‘January cure’ which I will post on later
  • Complete my stretches from the physio at least once. Lets start slow here and see if I can manage that
  • Get on the bike three times - attempt to up the intensity of the work out
  • Play the Wii fit games three times during the week with Man Friend. This is just as a relax-o and a fun thing for Martin and I to do that lets us spend time together moving….
  • Spend some time talking to my friends, talking to the people I love. I’m making this a goal so I can use it as an example of just how important it is to communicate with my people.

I think that will do me for now… I’ll let you know how I go..

Weekly Goals Check In

Just Checking in. I’m going great guns at the moment.

  • To be awake from morning to night, no napping for at least 7 days (I am two days into this). Check. My sleep is getting better, longer stretches without waking and more of them at night.
  • To attempt manage a full 7 days without any sleeping aids (valium - unless its required for pain, sleeping tabs, phenergan) (I am also two days into this).I haven’t managed this one. I’ve had to use phenergan twice, but both of them have been for hay fever and not as a sleeping aid, so I’m kinda half okay with this.
  • To use my foam roller at least twice in the next 7 days, shoulders, thighs, glutes, ITB, inner thighs. I’ve managed this once and plan on doing it again today so SCORE…
  • To complete my stretches/exercises from my Physio at least 3 times. Not as yet but I plan to get some done today so, heres hoping.
  • To spend a little bit of time every day working on the house and my headspace. This one is going great, I’ve reorganised my lounge room and I’m spending time de-cluttering my life which is helping my headspace oh-so-much.

So, I’m going okay, I really am.. I’ve even managed to get on the bike twice, I’ve used very little resistance but seeing as I’m still pretty shattered I’m more than okay with this!!!

Weekly Goals, Wk1

I’m restarting the weekly goals. I think they are going to be a great focus for me. So, here goes. Some of them I have already started but I’m still calling it.

  • To be awake from morning to night, no napping for at least 7 days (I am two days into this).
  • To attempt manage a full 7 days without any sleeping aids (valium - unless its required for pain, sleeping tabs, phenergan) (I am also two days into this).
  • To use my foam roller at least twice in the next 7 days, shoulders, thighs, glutes, ITB, inner thighs
  • To complete my stretches/exercises from my Physio at least 3 times
  • To spend a little bit of time every day working on the house and my headspace.

This is how I shall start my year. I want to get on my bike but I am not making it a goal, because I don’t want to stress myself out too much. If I continue to be as exhausted as I am now, I wont make it on there, and I am okay with that.

Goals recapped 19th - 26th August

  • Eat breakfast within an hour of getting up - Sorted… my breakfasts have been getting slightly healthier again as well.. this is very nice!!

  • Write to do list for the day. - Yeah, not so much, I realised I have my daily tasks list and that I really needed to stick to that… so, I’m pulling that one in again.

  • Start using MyFitnessPal again - Surprisingly I’m calling this a win. I have been locked out of MFP and can’t seem to reset my password despite two emails. However I have tracked everything for the diary for my Dr.
  • Keep diaries for Dr of Food, Sleep, Exercise, Mood - Its getting a little frustrating to do this (I hate keeping track of everything like this) but I have done this every single day.
  • Burn 2000cal in the week - EVEN WITH A PINCHED NERVE I MANAGED TO THRASH THIS ONE… last week… I burnt a total of 2495cal.. This is including the fact that my PT cancelled on me on Friday and I missed my stretch class… I’m so proud of this because I changed the way I dealt with the pain and used longer, lower intensity work outs to help loosen the muscles.
  • Write up “What Made Me Smile” each day - Sadly I did not manage this one.. I thought about it every day, but I didn’t get to a computer to put it down in writing.
  • Go to bed by 10pm unless I’m out - I managed this Every night bar one, and that was because I had guests from home…
  • Stop napping - I napped once, but I was so freaking tired so often during the week I’m still rather happy with this!

Things That Made Me Smile Today - 22nd August

Today was a really big day mentally for me, I’m really pleased and proud of myself today, and I’ll need to remind myself of some of the things I have learnt often…

  • I realised that I don’t need the approval and validation from anyone else but me, I realised that I *am* enough, and that *I* am the reason I should be doing things.
  • I realised that *I* am someone worth celebrating - and then started to talk to people about plans for my 25th Birthday…
  • I managed to jump on the bike and stick to the time limit I gave myself even though I still hurt.
  • My hurt is no where near as bad as it was on Monday
  • I rang/booked appointments to help look after my pinched nerve
  • I did (a small amount) housework
  • I spent the evening with people I really like.
  • I had my first energy drink in months, I smiled not because I needed one to get through the day after a totally crap nights sleep, but because it has been months since I’ve needed one to get through the day
  • I saw Total Recall and it was awesome…
  • I am going for snuggles and then to sleep because I’m exhausted.

I made it (almost)!!!

The past month has been an utter train wreck, I fully expected that and tried to lower my expectations on myself because of that. That month is almost over, I just have this weekend to go and then I’ll be apples …

So, its time to start looking after myself again. During the month I managed lots of small work outs and I started to see a few really great results, but now its time to go back to really looking after myself. So, I’m going to start today and on Sunday kick it into the weekly goals.

So, goals for this week.

  • Eat breakfast within an hour of getting up - lately its taking me anything from 2-4 hours after I get up to eat breakfast.
  • Write to do list for the day.
  • Start using MyFitnessPal again
  • Keep diaries for Dr of Food, Sleep, Exercise, Mood
  • Burn 2000cal in the week
  • Write up “What Made Me Smile” each day.
  • Go to bed by 10pm unless I’m out
  • Stop napping

So, this is what next week is going to look like.. Wish me luck….

Goals Recapped 16th - 22nd July

This was not the greatest of weeks (I need to stop saying that), I had appointments 6 out of the 7 days and for most of them I was wrecked at the end of each of them. So I didn’t do perfectly but I’m still somewhat impressed with myself.

  • Meditate for 15-30 minutes a day - I did okayish with this one, I would have preferred to use the Mindfullness app everyday, instead I only managed that once but I did listen to my hypnosis almost every night, which is the same thing really, and it has helped my sleep to no end!!!
  • No SodaSorted, I had half a glass of pepsi max this week… I’m calling that one done.
  • Dressed within 20 minutes of getting out of bed - Again, not every day, but the idea which was to get more active during the day, has worked brilliantly.
  • Track fruit and veggies for the week -  Tracked them pretty solidly, even when I didn’t post it I had it logged in my notes app on my iphone
  • Post Things That Made Me Smile - Again, right up until Friday I did fine but back to it today…
  • Burn 2250 cals this week - That one was a big fat fail!!! I was 543 down, I was all set for a huge workout on Sunday, but I got a massive migraine, and I had to head to bed.

Now, the thing I meant to post and didn’t was the no junk meals from the big junky people, and not only did I do that, I didn’t have ANY junk at all. The only ‘fast food’ I had was a chicken and veggies which was fresh cooked and had about 100gm of chicken and 2 cups of veggies… it was nom tastic….
